During your private studies with me, you will spend a good deal of time learning how to play your horn extremely well. My focus is on building basic musical skills and developing musicality. Your growth as a musician will help you play your band music much better and prepare you for honor group auditions. I will work with your band director to focus instruction to your specific needs and we will work frequently from the same books that are used in honor group auditions. Your experience in your private lessons will support your musical endeavors at all levels. Here is a list of the books we will be working from. In addition there are exercises posted on this website that we will use as needed. Refer to the music downloads page. All students are expected to obtain a copy of The Art of Horn Playing by Philip Farkas (Summy-Birchard)
